How long were you and your spouse dating until you decided to marry?

I'm just curious to see how long some married couples were together until they got married or engaged. I know it varies, some people its 2 weeks, other its 2 years. Sometimes it just feels right then, right?

So yea, how long was it until you married your partner? Or at least until you talked about marriage and decided to marry? How long were you and your spouse dating until you decided to marry?
Me and my husband dated for 8 months then got engaged. And we were engaged for 3 years. We just got married this past april. It all depends on what you prefer to do. Some people are completely comfortable from day one and have no problem rushing and some wanna hold back. Weddings are stressful and a lot of work and money to put together, sometimes it's good to make sure all the ducks are in a row no matter how long it takes to do it. Whether 4 days or 4 years! lolHow long were you and your spouse dating until you decided to marry?
When we first met, it was NOT love at first sight. In fact, I was scared of him. He was sooo handsome, but he was also the equivalent of the local sheriff.

But after we became friends, we eventually started dating, too.

We met in June 2000, started seriously dating in February 2001, I think that we knew kind of early on that we were meant to be together. But we had to work through some cultural boundaries first. And we actually married in January 2003.

And we are very happy together and have no intentions of looking elsewhere.
We dated in high school, then broke up. Met back up when we were 22 years old and immediately fell back in love. Dated for about a year and a half or so, then got engaged. Only when we were officially engaged did we move in together. We were married the following year and have been married for the last 10 years.
My husband proposed to me 6 months after we started dating and even though I knew I loved him I wasn't ready to get married!!! I explained my feelings to him and he was okay with it..he said I was worth the wait and he proposed a year later. So we were together a year and 1/2 before we tied the knot. And technically it was 2 years because it took 6 months to plan the wedding.
After the first date I KNEW I would marry her. I even wrote a poem, mailed it to myself so it was postmarked.

I proposed a year and a half later and we've been married for 21 years (16 of them have been WONDERFUL! LOL)

We went through counseling in year 19 and fixed a lot of issues. My great advice to everyone is to go to counseling BEFORE you get married...it is much cheaper, better, and easier to get along later.
We lived together for 5 years and then got married. We'll be married 8 years in Sept.

Took him about 2 years to save for the ring... I was very open when I told him that he could not simply live with me forever; I'd need a real commitment. We were engaged for a little over 1 year.
We were engaged after 4 years of dating, and married 7 months after that engagement date.
We met (9 years ago) November 21, moved in together and got promise rings January 15, and got married February 14. We moved fast. It felt right, and 9 years later, I couldn't be happier!!!
5 years of dating then we married. no moment of regret what so ever. Haha, we talked about marriage ever since the first day of dating b/c I'm not her first husband.
1 year and 5 months - we've now been married 31 years.
we met in grade seven, were friends for 12 years, dated for two, were engaged for two and got married last fall. although i knew by grade eight he was the one for me, lol.
Dated about 4 years, then we got married. Been married 22 years!
3 months, (and really young and regret it very much)
We dated for 4 years. I waited for her to graduate from college before proposing.
