How do you maintain unconditional love for a spouse?

Unconditional love-you marry them aware of their faults and sure that you are able to deal with it for the long run, but as time goes by their self centered behaviour and offensive language grates and you become resentful. How do you get past this when opting out is not an option? How do you maintain unconditional love for a spouse?
If you can't get him out of your mind and you just miss him when ever he is away, then you really love him unconditionally. You accept all his flaws, but you emphasize the positive in him and cultivate the good in your marriage.

Otherwise, you need to make some hard personal choices and consciously build your own self-esteem while maintaining your relationship with him. Always keep communications line open with your spouse. To do otherwise will work against you.How do you maintain unconditional love for a spouse?
There is no unconditional love in a mature relationship. There are always conditions, unless it's your child. Some of them are in your marriage vows. One condition is that your spouse doesn't treat you abusively, and opting out is always an option.

I think it's a lesson to pay attention to those faults and not gloss over the red flags before you get married. They will come back to bite you. As for self-centered behavior and offensive language, this should be something reasonable people could talk out and resolve. If not, marriage counseling is certainly the option that comes before opting out.
You get off it! Look within yourself and figure out why YOU are letting things bother you. The offensive language, well, you can always communicate with your partner how it makes you feel when they speak that way, and ask them that they try not to speak that way around you. Then let it go and don't jump on them whenever they slip up. Put yourself in a higher vibration, meaning think positively. The more positively we are thinking the more positive things will come back to us. This goes as well the other way, the more you focus on the negative, the more negative you will see and manifest.
Talk about the stuff that really bothers you (the big stuff, because you know, gotta pick your battles. you are not perfect either) and use positive reinforcement on the things that go really well. It's much better to talk about that behavior early on then to think you are letting it go when you actually become resentful later. If ';later'; is already here, talk a bit and say, ';there's something I should have mentioned awhile ago, so I'm sorry for not being honest, but it really bothers me when you...';

and don't expect changes to happen overnight, but we watching for continuous improvement instead.
The way I did what you describe was by marrying somebody who was not self centered, offensive in language, nor engaged in any other behavior I could not be content with long term. This strategy has worked quite well for 22 years of marriage.

For me, the real test came this last January, when I found out my wife had been doing something I had no idea she would ever do, and she got fired from her job for it. After getting the facts from her, though, one of the first things I said to her about our relationship was, ';This is not going to break us up.'; And it hasn't. I owe her too much to give up on her, after the times she has not given up on me.
U have to realize that u and him are to different person in reality. Look at the positive things u do like about him and let the rest go. Takes work from both partners. Willingness to forgive and let the ego go.
No such thing.

Unconditional love is what we have for our children.

My wife loves me, but you better believe it's conditional. I start knocking her around or dipping my pen in some other ink, and she'll stop loving me fast.
You communicate your issues and talk about them until they are resolved. This is key.
Act just like they do.

My friend is married to a Muslim who grew up in Kosovo. Apparently Muslims are allowed to have up to 3 wives, and are allowed to basically have a 'prostitute' for one hour whenever they want. Good thing my friend finally decided to divorce the creep!
Pakistan and in all islamic countries i guess but just for men.women cant have more than 1 husband.
In ancient a man can have a lot of wives. The emperior had at least three thousands! AND they are classified in different classes!

My friends spouse visa for canada was refused?

He lives in india and got married to canadian citizen 15 months ago and got his refusal last week. His wife is planning a appeal. What can he do now and what are the chances of him getting visa and how much time will it take?My friends spouse visa for canada was refused?
They have to look at why they were denied. The most common reason for denial is that immigration did not believe that their relationship was real. They would need more proof of their relationship for the appeal. If they were still denied, his wife should go live with him in India for a year and then apply again. Appeals often take around a year. If his wife was to move to India to be with him now, it would strengthen their appeal application.

How do react when u r around ex spouse and his new girlfriend?

My ex husband and I have been divorced for 6 years. Every year after the divorce when I would have a birthday party for one of our children he would come alone. This year he will be coming with a new girlfriend. I do not mind I am over him but I am not sure how to act around both of them. She treats my kids very well and they like her so I don't have any negative feelings toward her but I am afraid it will feel awkward for both of us. How should I react toward them? How do react when u r around ex spouse and his new girlfriend?
You smile and be nice and polite.

PERIOD.How do react when u r around ex spouse and his new girlfriend?
Just be yourself and be a polite hostess. Don't feel awkward at all and if you do feel that way just don't let it show. Since she treats your kids well and they like her, it will be a nice for your kids to see all the people they care about being cordial with each other.
justbe your normal sweet self and smile alot. I am sure its one of your best features.

    in the playpen with Milderd
just be a gracious host and be polite. It will only be a few hours so I am sure you can do this
    Just act normal and friendly.

I think that's the best way to go!!!

  • How does a pregnant ex-wife qualify for spouse maintence?

Considering the marriage only lasted 15 months. Consideing she has no assets and neither does the ex-Husband. Considering she is on a 2 year spouse visa and considering the ex-Husband does not want anything to do with the Child but will still have to pay child maintence. Is the ex-Husband entitled to pay spouse maintence to his ex-wife or doesn't she qualify for this. How does a pregnant ex-wife qualify for spouse maintence?
It depends on what state you live in. Some states allow for maintenance, some states do so only in certain situations.

He will definitely be required to pay child support. How does a pregnant ex-wife qualify for spouse maintence?
The 2 year spouse visa is irrelavent, she only needs to be married for a few msonth to allow her to stay here- a new law last year, the childs father should have thought about not wanting anything to do with the child before he got her poregnant, its not the childs fault and legally she does qualify for spouse maintenance, in UK its called alimont. The CSA will be taking 25% of the fathers salary for the next 16 years of if in higher education till the child is 18 unless he becomes a doctor then the father pays CSA until the child finishes medical school at 26 years old.
well as long as he got his (ex) wife pregnant and he is the father than yes he does have to pay maintanence because at the end off the day even if he doesn't like his ex the child will always be his and there is nothing he can do about that.

i dont know if he will have to still pay if she moves to her country of origin though.
yes if u have to pay.if u want t escape take a dna test, prove that this is not ur baby.

sorry dear u have to pay for child maintenance.as i mentioned earlier why she is still here, cancel her visa and send her back.spk to immigration solicitors regarding this. call 0207 7097886 for deportation.
    de-ja-vu!
Make sure that the child is HIS!!
    Yes she does count.

If your spouse dies and you have children how much money will you get from social security each month?

Is there a formula based on your their past earnings or is it a set amount? Assume two children under the age of 18. Thanks. If your spouse dies and you have children how much money will you get from social security each month?
It is a formula based upon past earnings and years of work. To recieve anything there is a minimum amount of work that has to have been performed first in terms of calendar quarters of work. That number is pretty low I believe. Social Security sends a notice each year of how much money that would be.

How many children can you ';handle'; if your spouse is in the military and they are currently away?

I was just wondering what you guys think in general. Our spouses are away for a long time. How many kids do you handle or could you handle on your own without any help? How many children can you ';handle'; if your spouse is in the military and they are currently away?
I am a military wife, and I only have one child and when my husband is gone either in the field or deployments we do just fine, I know other families that have 4 or 5 and they do just fine. I also know other families that have only 1 kid like me but they go insane. It just depends on the person.

If you are a military wife then you know that you adjust to your situation.

Good Luck!!How many children can you ';handle'; if your spouse is in the military and they are currently away?
I think it depends on a number of things - how many children you have, how organized you are, and the support system you have. Some people can deal with lots of kids because they're organized and have a strict routine, which is for the better. So I guess you'd never know unless you had more children.

I have the utmost respect for military wives; I don't think I could do it. I admire anyone who can willingly let their husbands go for months at a time to serve their country and still go on, especially when there are small children involved. You are truly brave, strong women!
I spent five years working in a daycare center with the infants/toddlers. I was on more than one occassion with 8 children under the age of 3..

My mother in law was a single mothe of 6. I guess it all depends on how many YOU think you can handle.

Me personally, I could easily raise an army single handedly for a year and a half..
Haha! There are days where I feel like I'm directing a 3 ring circus! We only have two kids right now - a 10 month old who is teething and a 3 year old who makes Dennis the Menace look like an angelic model child. lol. We would like to have one more child at some point in time. I don't really get any time to myself at all. I mean, let's face it, we live away from our families and who am I going to find to watch two kids so I can go out and have some alone time? It just doesn't happen. lol. It's really hard, especially since they KNOW that Daddy is gone and they miss him and sometimes (especially for my 3 year old) it breaks their little hearts (and mine). Especially when she says ';mommy, where daddy go?'; or ';When Daddy come home?'; The other hard (hardest) part is knowing that you husband may not come home.

How do I cope? Lots of play groups. lol. That gives me a chance to get out and talk to other moms and my kids a chance to play with other kids. One thing that I want to start doing is (when finances allow) get a babysitter for maybe 2 hours 3 times a week so that I can go to the gym on base (as the gym is free). That way I can do my running (I looove to run) and get more exercise than pushing a stroller every day. Prayer. Lots of prayer. MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) is also a good group to get involved with.
well I have 3 and my hubby works from 10am - 7 pm.

I never thought it will be this hard to raise 3 children I am 24.

Yes thankfully when they go to school I have time for myself when newborn is sleeping shes the easiest by the way ;)

and Tees, but he also cleans up well too!
I think he looks best in a black leather jacket with jeans. Just a casual, edgy, rocker look.
My husband looks sexy in black jeans.
he looks nice in good jeans and a short-sleeved polo shirt.

Do I have to file a new injured spouse for the stimulus package? Filed one with original return.?

The injured spouse form filed with original return showed information for taxes and refund before this stimulus package. Now do I have to file another one and try to figure it in somehow. I understand that a portion will be used for offset which is cool but the injured spouse is not responsible for it. How does that work?Do I have to file a new injured spouse for the stimulus package? Filed one with original return.?
You do not have to file injured spouse for the stimulus payment. The IRS will use the injured spouse data from the 2007 tax return you filed and factor it in accordingly. The injured spouse's stimulus payment will not be offset if not responsible.Do I have to file a new injured spouse for the stimulus package? Filed one with original return.?
Is there an IRS publication that we can look up to find the answer officially?

When your spouse passes away can your collect their social security?

My great uncle just died. My aunt gets about 500 a month for SS and my uncle got 800. Can she collect his 800 instead of the 500 now that he passed away? When your spouse passes away can your collect their social security?
Yes....but I think its after 65.....the higher of the two. When your spouse passes away can your collect their social security?
    most definitely!!!
I doubt that very much, but as her circumstances have now changed she should notify social services who will then be able to reassess her needs and advise her of what she is now entitled to receive.
Yes, after death the spouse will receive the higher of the benefits.

If you find out, let me know. We'll get rich marketing it.

Wage earners like you and me are best advised to focus on maximizing the return on investments and on our labor and to avoid tax shelters. We don't have the economies of scale to deal with the eventual tax audits and their nasty consequences.

By all means take advantage of any IRS-sanctioned opportunities to reduce or defer tax, such as 401(k), IRAs, Roth IRAs, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts and the like. I don't know why you won't consider buying a house, but maybe you could buy some investment realty. But don't waste energy fretting over goals like paying only 10k in federal income tax.
I'm really sorry ... I do not have any information to help you with.

But I feel very strongly that you should hire a reputable tax consultant. I know for some people, even those that make $200K, it's an expense they feel they can't afford. But I have an investment advisor, and I swear it's the best money I've spent to make money. If you treat your tax consultant well, let him/her know both you and wife's goals in the future and for now, and don't hesitate to pay him/her a fair fee, then I am sure you will find that expertise will work very hard for you so that you are actually going home with more dollars in your pocket.

    Bonne chance.

Is it normal to feel worried about my spouse tattooing my name on himself?

My husband is on work in another state right now. We were talking on the phone and mentioned getting my name tattooed on himself. I thought he was joking because we both always agreed that names were bad ju ju. Well now he is going today to get it! My name is 7 letters and he picked out a design that is like a flourish as he describes it. It will go on the entire inside of his forearm. He said that my name is not really noticeable unless you know it's there and it blends very nicely into the design. He says that if anything ever happens, he can turn it into a sleeve and nobody will ever know. I asked him why, and he said that he loves me so much and he wants what he loves most in the world close to him and with him always. I feel the same way and admire his tenderness and honesty, but I can't help but feel a little uncomfortable about it. Maybe more for the fact that people/family will blame me for him putting my name on his body? Should I just be flattered and love him more?Is it normal to feel worried about my spouse tattooing my name on himself?
It's his body, if he wants to put a tattoo of your name on it, that's his choice. I think it's sweet, and I like the idea that he's blending it with a design. You should be flattered. When my husband and I were still dating we had a running joke between us of ';I like toast.'; He decided to get a tattoo of a toaster with toast, and it's like our thing. People comment on it (I mean how many people have a tattoo of a toaster?) but we know what it means because it's special to us. If your husband says that your name blends in so well that no one would really notice, you should think of how special that tattoo will be to both of you because only you will know what it means. And why would anyone blame you for what he decided to put on his body?Is it normal to feel worried about my spouse tattooing my name on himself?
    yes! i was worried!!!
Just be flattered and love him because, in the end especially if it's been discussed before, it sounds like there is very little reason to believe that you are going to change his mind about it.
well isnt it good that you have a name that isnt something like.......fanny or booby or something long and drawn out lol...no seriously though just accept it and you cant rid of your feelings you will get used to it and as well as getting used to it at least you know he loves you lol, its nice really and men are sometimes daft anyway (no offense to anyone) so just smile and think ahhhh my man is daft.

but really at least your boyfriend isnt stoppin u getting a tattoo....mine is :o(
I think you should be a little flattered, he is making a permanent mark of your name on his skin! But at the same time, what if you split up? Your choice really. If your worried, your worried. Cant stop the gut feeling. Hope that tattoo turns out good :)
well if things don't work out, you should be prepared to be a b**** to everyone who knows him. my ex tattooed my name on his forearm and we broke up two days later. the breakup was so bad that i, on a whim, decided to move across the country to get away from him. on the upside, i did find my husband after i moved. i guess it can be a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it.
My husband use to say he would get my name and I use to tell him I love you and I know you love me but there are other ways to show me you love me other then placing my name permanently on your body. I enjoyed helping design all the tattoos for each of our 4 children that our on his body. These are pictures of that our love created, try going that route for awhile, If all else fails and things go wrong god forbid, just look at it this way this is one way you could haunt him for the rest of his life.....ha ha.
I understand. I would be confused also about the situation. I am personally against getting a name tattooed on you. Because you both dislike them and he got one anyway, I would take it as a wonderful compliment. Its really pretty sweet. Just don't go get his name tattooed on you. Admire his.
i have my wifes name on my neck withh abig rose dont be worried it bf gf names that are bad luck
dont worry about what other people think. If anything explain to them that he was the one who wanted it and it is his body. I would feel a little uncomfortable also but like he said he can always get it covered if need be.
i do think it is a lovely gesture, but i totally have the ';bad ju ju'; idea also. it always seems like such taboo to tattoo your lover/spouse's name on you. i have my daughter's name on my foot. and i wanted to do something for my husband, so i am getting ';Wife'; in arabic on the back of my neck. but who cares. if you are excited and he is excited go for it
I would feel uncomfortable too. I think I would feel obligated to get his name on me, and I just wouldn't do that. I don't know...there's not much you can do to stop him so I guess you'll just have to accept it.

You sure can.Can a spouse be a witness on forms that need to be submitted to a government agency?

You can usually find a notary at a bank, it's not that difficult.

  • One Working Spouse and the Economic Stimulus Package?

If one spouse is working and the other doesn't but file a joint tax return, will the new economic stimulus package give us each $600 or just to the working spouse? One Working Spouse and the Economic Stimulus Package?
This question has been asked so many times. If you file married filing jointly with a joint income of under $150,000 each spouse gets $600 for a total of $1200, and $300 for each child, provided that you paid at least the $1200 in taxes in 2007 (it is a rebate). It does not matter if both or one spouse works, it is a combo of under $150,000 for 2 people that is important.
